The Khumai Danda Trek, also known as the Korcha or Machhapuchhre Model Trek, is one of Nepal’s most scenic yet lesser-known short treks in the Annapurna region. Offering jaw-dropping views of Machhapuchhre (Fishtail), Annapurna South, and Hiunchuli, this trail takes you through rhododendron forests, high alpine meadows, and untouched ethnic villages.
At an altitude of 3,682 meters, Khumai Danda is a panoramic ridgeline facing the iconic Fishtail mountain. You’ll pass through quaint settlements like Kaltha, Meshroom, and Ghachowk, home to diverse ethnic groups such as the Gurung, Magar, Tamang, and Newar communities. This trail is ideal for trekkers seeking raw mountain beauty, authentic homestays, and less-crowded paths within just a few days.
